Six athletes from Canada and China live worlds apart, but on the ice they’re chasing the same dream.

Six athletes on opposite sides of the world wake up with the same goal. Three are Canadian and three are Chinese. They speak different languages, grew up in different cultures and train in systems that have almost nothing in common. One Dream pairs them by sport: a speed skater, a hockey player and a figure skater from each country. We follow them through training and competition, and into the lives that shaped them: the families who gave things up for them, the coaches who push them and the pressure they carry every time they step onto the ice. As their stories play out side by side, the differences start to fade. The early mornings, the injuries, the setbacks and the moments when everything finally clicks look the same in Canada as they do in China. One Dream shows that sport can connect people that culture and language keep apart.
