SkiTV Adds OMNI Television to Canadian Broadcast Distribution
July 10, 2020 - TORONTO, Canada – S-Media’s Ski Television (SkiTV), which achieved unprecedented exposure with over 108 million viewers globally in 2019, is pleased to announce a new Canadian distribution partnership with OMNI Television.
Starting in Fall 2020, SkiTV will begin airing weekly in Chinese (Mandarin) on OMNI Television in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, opening a new and growing audience segment for the Canadian ski market and international destination tourism market.
SkiTV’s Chinese broadcast airings in Canada will be in addition to its English programming nationwide on Rogers Sportsnet.
The Mandarin programming on OMNI Television will be a combination of SkiTV English content with Mandarin subtitles and Mandarin spoken language content featuring China’s preparation for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
Mark Kristofic, Managing Partner of S-Media said: “This is a great opportunity to reach a new audience segment that is playing a key role in driving the growth of the Canadian ski industry and destination tourism. By speaking directly to Chinese-Canadians in Mandarin programming, we can help promote the sport we all love and encourage new audiences to head to the hills and mountains for a true winter experience."
In addition to the current distribution model of Rogers Sportsnet and OMNI Television in Canada, Xinhua in China and CNC World globally, 2019/20 will see S-Media continue to grow distribution channels globally with the addition of targeted digital/social distribution and syndicated television programming.
With content for both English and Chinese speaking audiences, S-Media provides an ideal platform for advertisers and partners looking to reach global audiences, new ski markets and a connection to the (2022) winter games. Audience demographics strategically target active and affluent outdoor enthusiasts with a pre-disposition to international travel.
