Ski Television Global Audience hits over 108 Million viewers in winter 2019.
May 1, 2019 - TORONTO, Canada / BEIJING, China – Ski Television achieved unprecedented exposure during the first half of 2019 reaching a global audience of 108.7 million viewers. A full suite of custom digital content, twelve full length episodes and 48 three minute vignettes brought ski culture into the hearts of existing and emerging ski markets worldwide.
This growth happened within months after Snowsports Media (S-Media) and Chinese state news agency China Xinhua News Network Corporation (CNC) announced a co-production agreement with the goal of increasing awareness of snowsports in China, as well as coverage of international and Chinese resorts and athletes outside of China.

Yue CHEN, Director of General Planning for CNC said: "We are very happy with the results from our first year working with S-Media. Our goal was to both promote snowsports inside China, as well as show the world the growing interest and passion that the Chinese people have for winter sports as we move towards the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. I think we accomplished these goals."
Cumulatively, co-produced content distributed through social, digital and television broadcast saw over 3.4M viewers in Canada, 58M viewers in Mainland China, 17M viewers in Eastern Europe and 24M viewers in Western Europe (full viewership by country breakdown below in TABLE A).

Mark Kristofic, Managing Partner of S-Media said: “There is a global appetite for winter sports content, and specifically learning about China, its culture and its preparation as a first time Winter Olympic host nation and rapidly growing ski market. Combining this with international resort, athlete and sport content makes for compelling viewing for a global audience interested in the Winter Olympics. In 2019, our partners received anywhere from 25M to 348M advertising or product impressions."
“It’s an exciting time for winter sports” concludes CHEN. “We look forward to growing our sports content projects with S-Media.”
In addition to the current distribution model, 2019 will see S-Media continue to grow distribution channels globally with the addition of summer content, targeted digital/social distribution and syndicated television programming.
With content for both English and Chinese speaking audiences, S-Media provides an ideal platform for advertisers and partners looking to reach global audiences, new ski markets and a connection to the (2022) winter games. Audience demographics strategically target active and affluent outdoor enthusiasts with a pre-disposition to international travel.
